Chapter 1: The Missing Pencil

Aunt Arctic took a sip of her tea as she read the paper in the Coffee Shop. Of course she had a sneak peak at it before it was published but she likes to read everything in it once it's out.
Another thing she likes to do is read her collumn and take notes on what she feels she needs to improve on and other things such as that.
"Oh dear, I need to be careful on what I say." Aunt Arctic said as she started reaching for the pencil that lays within her pink hat. "It sounds like I know a little something about a certain secret agency there."
Patting her head she realizes that her pencil isn't there. "My pencil? Where is it?"
Then she remembered back. The previous day Gary had asked her over for dinner. She must have left the pencil at his igloo!
She pulled out her phone then dialed G's number. Impatiently twiddling her flippers as she waits for him to pick up, she thought about what he might have done with her item.
That pencil is very special to her. It was given to her by a very important penguin who is no longer among them. Aunt Arctic has to have her pencil back.
"Hello?" G said as he answered his phone.
"Gary, hi. I believe I may have left my pencil at your igloo. Have you seen it?" Aunt Arctic asked.
"Oh so that's where that pencil came from!" G said. " Yes, I brought it to work with me. It writes very nicely."
"Yes I know that. Do you think I can come by and pick it up?"
"Um that might be a problem." Gary replied.
"How so?" The green penguin asked.
"I left it at work and today is my day off. I rather not go in and get it. I haven't had a day off in countless months. I really need to rest."
A.A. frowned. "Well, that's alright." She said with a worried tone in her voice. "I can go pick it up myself I suppose."
Startled, G jumped almost dropping his phone. "Sorry Aunt Arctic but I can't allow any penguins in at the moment."
"What do you mean? You just work at the Sports Shop. I'm sure whoever is working the shift there right now won't mind letting me up into your office."
Trying to think of an excuse, Gary said the first thing that came to mind. "Well you see, it's um more complicated then that because... I'm uh having my windows painted!"
"Windows painted?" Aunt Arctic asked.
"Did I say windows?" Gary replied with his obvious lies. "I meant walls. Silly me. The painters are in a sour mood and don't want any visitors. Sorry but I think you will need to wait before getting your pencil back but it's just a pencil. You can just use a different one right?"
"I guess so. Bye G, sorry to have bothered you." A.A. said before hanging up.
Aunt Arctic needed that pencil now. She knows that G would probably lose it if she didn't go in and get it herself. She also knows that G isn't a very good liar. He had to left it in his lab in the PSA.

Chapter 2: The Disguise

Before just walking right in there Aunt Arctic needed a disguise. How was she going to explain who she is? Of course they all know who she is but they don't know her other identity. It's important to her that no one finds out about it too.
Looking through her costume trunk she found a propellar cap and sunglasses. "Perfect! I'll look just like Rookie. They won't suspect a thing."
She put on her disguise to be disappointed. Although she looks just like Rookie she still has her freckles. Maybe nobody will notice?
Hoping that was the case Aunt Arctic pulled out her spy phone then teleported to the foot of the ski hill behind a clump of snow then walked into the Winter Sports Shop.
"Can I help you?" An employee asked as she entered.
Aunt Arctic turned to see one of her agents, Taylor Made. Being great at sewing and designing he's the one who is responsible for the suits that some of the agents wear.
"Rookie? Is that you?" Taylor asked half confused.
Trying to lower her voice a bit and talk in a more goofy tone A.A. replied. "Oh Taylor hey! I was just entering you know where." And with that she blinked then purposely fell over.
Other then Rookie's voice sounding funny with the clumsiness all of his suspicions cleared and he went back to reading a sports fashion magazine.
Aunt Arctic went behind the curtain of the changing room then revealed the secret entrance to the PSA. With a smile she entered.

Chapter 3: Accessing the EPF

The smell of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. With that Aunt Arctic figured that Jet Pack Guy was in the break room fixing himself a cup of coffee.
She wandered down without getting any weird looks then saw it, the doors to G's lab. Beyond them was her precious pencil. All she needed to enter was Gary's glasses.
"Oh dear, I seem to have forgotten to get an extra pair of G's glasses." She slouched down wondering how she was going to get in.
The thought of checking the drawer next to where he likes to sit when checking the monitors is a likely location but he wouldn't keep such a item somewhere anybody would be able to find them.
Where anybody would be able to find them? That's it! He might keep an extra pair at his desk in the EPF Command! It's highly secret and not even very many PSA agents know of it's existence. It's a great place to keep something he may need if he can't get into his lab.
Aunt Arctic walked over to the wardrobe then looked around to make sure no one was watching then opened it up and entered.
She waddled down to some doors that require a card to get by. Being the Director she does have one of these special cards and swiped it.
Immediately when the doors opened a magenta colored penguin with a hat on was standing there holding a carrier with a black puffle inside.
"G'day mate. Where you off to?" The pink penguin asked setting the carrier down and crossing her flippers.
A.A. recognized this penguin immediately as P.H. the puffle handler. She was worried about giving away her identity but still tried her hardest to remain in character.
"I'm going to the party at the Pizza Parlor! I hear they have a piñata!" Aunt Arctic said trying her best to retain Rookie's goofy sounding voice.
"Funny, this is nowhere near the Pizza Parlor. I fear that you are lost my friend." P.H. responded.
Aunt Arctic tried to keep her cool. Knowing that if she got too worried it would show. "Oh really? That's too bad. Well I'll just be on my way then." She said trying to walk in through the doors.
"Not so fast. I have some questions to ask you."
She froze, unsure onto what to do next. Although Aunt Arctic was able to keep her identity as the Director a secret she was still bad with undercover missions.
"First off, how did you get back here? Only EPF agents have access here and Rookie, I know you are just a simple PSA agent for the time being." P.H. said holding a stern look.
Aunt Arctic gulped. "Like I said, I was trying to find the Pizza Parlor. I thought maybe it would be behind the cabinet thingy."
"Alright then." P.H. said with a little smile knowing she's got something on the penguin in front of her. "How about accessing this door? Not even all EPF agents can get back here."
"Oh that! You opened it right when I was trying to figure out how it opens." Aunt Arctic said hoping that was convincing enough.
"Funny, I didn't even open the door. I was about to when I saw a light flash green then the door slid open revealin' you."
Aunt Arctic felt some sweat drip down her back. She could do this. She's handled undercover missions before. This is no different, well besides the fact that it was her co-workers that she was trying to hide amongst."
"Strangest thing, accordin' to the screen here on the other side it was highest level of security that opened the door, Mr. Director." P.H. said with a huge smile on her face proud of herself for figuring it out.
"What!? This is the Director's card? I found it on the ground and thought it was a ticket to get a free slice of pizza." Aunt Arctic said still trying to hide her identity.
"Oh quit it, G told me about your phone conversation. I didn't suspect anything until a saw a freckled Rookie standin' right in front of me after using a high security access card. It all makes sense now."
"Alright, you caught me." Aunt Arctic said using her actual voice.
The pink penguin's big smile turned into a smaller softer smile. She rested her flipper on A.A.'s shoulder. "It's alright. Your secret is safe with me." She handed Aunt Arctic the glasses she came for. "Gary asked me if I could get your pencil for you."
"Thank you P.H." She grinned as she held the glasses in her flippers. Not because she got the glasses she wanted but because she came up with a plan. "Would you like to walk me there? I rather not be questioned again."
"Sure thing!" She said then looked down at the grumpy black puffle in the crate. "Jus' let me put this little guy where he belongs first. I had almost forgotten that I had him."
"Oh is that one of those puffles that you are training?" Aunt Arctic asked.
"Actually, we were going to tell you about this. This lil' guy was spotted flying across the sky in flames then he crash landed into some icy cold water. He's in my care for the time being before we can let him go back into the wild."
"Oh my, I think that's the same puffle that has assisted our agents who had gotten lost out in the wilderness then tracked Herbert back to the same location. I feel he can be a very important asset. You should hold on to him." Aunt Arctic said looking into the kennel at the little black furball.
"It sounds like a wonderful idea. I'm sure Flare would like that." P.H. replied looking down at him as well.
"Flare?"
The puffle handler shook her head. "That's what he says his name is."
"I'm not going to ask. Don't take too long. I'll wait here for you."
With that P.H. left to drop Flare in a nice warm room with blankets to help him warm up. Then they were off to visit G's lab.

Chapter 4: The Mind Wipe 3000

P.H. scanned the glasses then the two penguins entered the lab.
Looking around Aunt Arctic was impressed. She knew about these inventions but didn't actually get to see them in person until now.
"Thinga-Ma-Jig 3000? Isn't that the odd contraption that makes the cruddy coffee that G sends me?" The advice penguin asked pointing at the machine.
"Coffee, hot chocolate, toast, whatever the heck you want. It's different each time. I'm not all too impressed with the stuff it makes either but he loves this machine to death." P.H. responded while searching a desk for the pencil.
After looking around a little more Aunt Arctic spotted what she was looking for. A handle with a trigger and a big silver disk at the top pointing outward, the Mind Wipe 3000.
"Found it!" P.H. announced, turning around to face Aunt Arctic who was fiddling with the timer setting it to the last 30 minutes.
"What's that?" Asked the pink penguin.
"If I answered that question you would just forget it." Aunt Arctic said with a dark and sad tone to her voice.
She pointed it at P.H. the pulled the trigger causing a bright flash and imediately hid it after use.
"Huh? What happened?" P.H. asked shaking her head quickly trying to get rid of that dizzy feeling.
"You found it P.H.!" Aunt Arctic said trying to use a Rookie voice.
"I did? Oh yeah the pencil. When did you get here Rookie?" the Puffle Handler asked.
"Don't you remember? You asked me to help you find the pencil and you found it." A.A. said.
P.H. held her head trying her best to remember but couldn't. "Sorry Rookie, I guess I'm just overworked. I'm not feeling so well. Do you think you could deliver this to Aunt Arctic for me?"
"Sure! Oh and P.H. I think you should dye your feathers brown. They would look nice like that." She said before exiting the lab.
Happy to have her pencil back Aunt Arctic wasn't paying attention to where she was going and accidentally bumped into a agent causing the both of them to colapse to the ground.
"Hey! Please watch where you are going." The agent said.
Looking at him, she realized that it was Rookie! She did not know what to do.
"Hey it's me! That's weird, I don't think G made a cloning machine. Or did he?" Rookie wondered holding his chin then he looked at the ground and saw a pink hat laying there. "Whoa! I didn't know that I liked pink hats!"
"Uh..." Not sure what to say Aunt Arctic leaped for the hat and grabbed it then stood up.
With hat and pencil in flipper penguins standing around who had already seen the double Rookie realized the other was Aunt Arctic!
She heard whispers, ideas on why she's in there. That maybe she had found a lead on the PSA and wanted to write an article about it in the paper or that she's really a bad guy wanting to take them down.
Many many different ideas circulated through the room which scared Aunt Arctic. She lifted up the Mind Wipe 3000 and set it to 5 minutes and big flash then closed her eyes. pulling the trigger she blinded the room and while all the penguins were in a daze she teleported back to her igloo as quickly as possible.

Sitting at a desk in her igloo, Aunt Arctic thought back to when she received the special gift. This caused a big smile to grow upon her beak.

Chapter 5: Aunt Arctic's Promotion

After a long day of protecting the island, Aunt Arctic laid down on her couch not looking forward to working on answering any questions.
She had just started her collumn and at first she enjoyed it but working for the PSA and answering Club Penguin's many questions was just too much! Although if she wasn't a secret agent then she wouldn't know what she knows which means she wouldn't be able to answer the island's questions.
About to fall asleep on her couch her brick of a spy phone started to ring. She picked it up then pulled the antenna and answered. "Hello?"
"Hello Aunt Arctic." A robotic like voice said on the other line.
"Oh my gosh, the Director?" A.A. asked.
"Correct. I would like to see you in my office as soon as possible." The Director responded.
"Your office?"
"Yes, I can teleport you there with the phone's teleportation function."
Aunt Arctic was both excited and scared. "But what about your identity? Isn't it suppose to be secret?"
"I'll explain everything after you get here." He said not waiting for a response and teleported the penguin right into his office.
A young Aunt Arctic stood there in front of a big desk. Behind the desk was a big black chair turned around facing the wall of huge black and white monitors eying the entire island.
"One day," The director started not talking in his robotic voice but more in a rasp. "I hope that the PSA HQ will have monitors so that any agent can see the island. Everything, so they can be there without the Director's orders making their attendance quick."
"But sir, aren't you the Director?" Aunt Arctic asked the talking chair.
"Not anymore. I need to retire. I'm getting old plus I have something important I must tend to." He said slowly turning the chair to face the penguin standing on the other side of the desk.
The chair stopped turning. The mysterious penguin was now face to face with Aunt Arctic. She couldn't believe her eyes for the bird sitting before her was Geriwald VIII.
"You're G's great uncle!" Aunt Arctic said, astonished.
"Funny you remember me for that. A long time ago I had my nephew's job here. I was in the same place as you when the Director revealed his identity to me and of course nobody even knew he was apart of the PSA of which will come of you too."
"Wait, what?" Aunt Arctic was confused.
"All records of you ever being a member of the PSA will be kept in a super secret file that only you can access. I had already removed it from the filing cabnets and put them in my private one in here. None of our agents can know that you worked with us so that your true self will always remain secret."
"Not that, what do you mean by all of this?"
Geriwald smiled. "It means you are going to become the new Director. And not only that but the first female one too."
Aunt Arctic stood there speechless until she realized a massive hole in the erasing her records of being a PSA member plan.
"What about those who know me, who trained me?" She asked.
"The lab guy before my nephew had just retired last month. You know the agents aren't allowed to speak of other agents outside the PSA to protect their identities. You know your mentor retired a few years ago. As for the others, they will filter out throughout the next few years and it will eventually be forgotten. You haven't mentioned that you work for the PSA to any brand new agents including my nephew have you?"
Aunt Arctic shook her head. "No I haven't."
"Good, good. Everything should be fine then." Geriwald said before opening a drawer. "You know that new job you got with the Club Penguin Times?"
"Yes?"
The older penguin pulled out a beautiful new pencil. "I know it's not much but I know you will be needing this. It will look nice on your hat."
Aunt Arctic grabbed the pencil and studied it. Just a normal #2 pencil, nicely sharpened with strong lead. This thing could last for a very long time.
"Thank you Mr. Director." She said. "I will treasure it always."
"It's Miss Director now. Call me Geriwald."

Aunt Arctic woke up from her dream. Reliving that memory was fantastic. She missed the old days of the PSA although it's nice having smaller spy phones now.
She turned on a lamp then picked up the pencil. Looking down at the old pencil, she smiled. It had been treasured all these years and will be for many more years.
Before the EPF was destroyed the PSA was the island's protection against Herbert and for our Director she has a very important mission to tend to. What is it? Recovering her beloved pencil.

Alright I will admit I was furious after the Director's identity was revealed to us. We are not suppose to know! It was cool having the mystery to it & shooting ideas on who it could be.

Apparently my friend & I actually discussed it being Aunt Arctic. I don't exactly remember that but I think I sort of do. It was quite a long time ago when we talked about it & it would make sense for me to forget.

I didn't like the thought of Aunt Arctic being the Director because I always saw the mysterious penguin as being male. Also the way I played her in the roleplay was so out of character for Aunt Arctic.

I can go on forever explaining that but I won't. I have grown to accept that Aunt Arctic is the Director & it did make the roleplay more exciting. I even started roleplaying as A.A.

The RP is actually what gave me the idea for this story. Really the question stands there on what it was like for her before we knew her identity.

It was too much fun writing this & shooting off ideas. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it. I know the story is short but it was meant to be short. If you want another story about the old days with the Director let me know.

I started playing Club Penguin about five years ago & my memory of the old days still stands strong. I miss the PSA so much. The reason why I dislike mission 11 is because it marks the end of the Penguin Secret Agency. You can trust that the stories of the old times comes from someone who was actually there so don't worry about it.
